Board Member Spotlight
Eric Knox ‘89
The Baltimore/DC Clemson Club welcomes Eric Knox back on board! Eric is no stranger to the Clemson community in our area having served as President of the DC Clemson Club from 1992 – 1998. His family is well represented in the ranks of Clemson Alumni as his wife Linda ’89, an uncle and almost a dozen cousins are also graduates of Clemson. In addition, his late mother retired from Clemson.
One of Eric’s favorite memories from his time in Tiger Town was participating in the 1981 National Championship Orange Bowl as part of Tiger Band.
Eric serves as Vice President, Strategic Development at Amentum, Environment & Energy. When not working, he enjoys competitive shooting sports, cooking, fishing and golf.
Eric and Linda support several charities that focus on widows and orphans and have occasionally traveled internationally to serve some of those missions. Additionally, Eric previously served as Chairman of the US Nuclear Industry Council (USNIC) from 2011-2014 and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board. The USNIC is a not for profit nuclear industry advocacy group based in Washington, DC representing over 80 companies supporting the nuclear supply chain.
When asked about his goal for the Board, Eric says he would like to see the Board be more diverse in age, background and perspective.
Thank you to Eric & Linda for elevating their support of our Clemson Club as Roaring Tiger members!

Founded in 2000, the Call Me MiSTER® (Mentors Instructing Students Toward Effective Role Models) program was created to inspire minority young men to pursue meaningful careers in education. What began as a partnership between Clemson University and three other institutions has grown into a national success, now spanning more than 75 colleges and universities. Through academic support, tuition assistance, and job placement, Call Me MiSTER is transforming lives and shaping the future of education.
This March, our Club is proud to help host Call Me MiSTER Director Mark Joseph, a former MiSTER himself, along with several current students as they visit DC during Clemson’s spring break. Alumni, parents, and students are invited to join us for a special evening reception on Wednesday, March 18 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington to meet Mark and the MiSTERs while hearing first hand stories of their success and celebrating the program’s incredible impact.
Registration is just $7 for Club members (who may bring three guests at this rate) and $20 for non-members and includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine, and soft drinks, along with complimentary valet parking.
