Board Member Spotlight
Spencer ’95 and Rachel ’96 Neal P’24
Imagine sitting in class at Clemson and spotting your future spouse. That’s exactly what happened for Spencer ’95 and Rachel ’96 Neal P’24! Clemson holds a very special place in their lives, and now as parents of a current Clemson student, they are enjoying the Clemson experience in a whole new way.
Spencer and Rachel have been members of the Baltimore/DC Clemson Club for 25 years – as long as they’ve been married, in fact – and we are proud to recognize their leadership as Corporate Partners and members of our Clemson Club Board of Directors.
Rachel is an Operations Support Manager for a defense contractor, and as owner of Leading Edge Wealth Advisors in Annapolis, Spencer is dedicated to supporting the financial needs of individuals, families and corporate 401k retirement plans. He proudly serves as the Foundation Chairman for Baltimore Washington Medical Center, and he is also a member of the Baltimore Washington Medical Center Board of Directors. Together they have committed their time, talents and treasures to our Baltimore/DC Clemson Club as Corporate Partners, and their goals include growing the impact of our Club in the metro region and increasing family participation.
The Neal family enjoys life outdoors, especially golfing, hiking, running, and cycling. They also love to travel, and they have the perfect reason to head to Tigertown any time to visit their daughter, Lauren ’24! When asked about inspiring life lessons, Spencer had not one but two thoughtful pieces of advice: “Listen more than you speak, and spend time getting to know people.”

Lunch and discussion will be Thursday, October 5, 12:00pm – 1:00pm at Allen Martin’s office, 499 South Capitol Street, SW, Suite 600, Washington DC. Lunch will be served. Registration is $10 for Club members; $25 for non-members. Please register if you plan to attend.
Guest speaker will be Tim Bourret, known for his extensive knowledge of all things Clemson Sports. Tim, a Notre Dame graduate student, traveled to Clemson in 1977 for the Clemson vs. Notre Dame game. He was so impressed with the atmosphere, he returned as an Assistant Sports Information Director a year later and has stayed at Clemson ever since. Come out to hear about his long-time Clemson career and tap into his encyclopedia of Tiger Sports.

Join us for this fun morning outside as we experience George Washington’s Mount Vernon in all its fall glory. We’ll help clean up the estate’s surrounding forest areas and have great fun doing so. This is a family friendly event and children (ages 10+) are encouraged to attend. Water, gloves, and lots of good humor will be provided, and lunch will be served.
As you work, Dean Norton ‘77 will share stories about the historic property and take you places that are not open to the public. Registration is limited to just 25 guests – so don’t delay. This event is free for current Club members and $30 for non-members.
